A Thousand Sufferings / Kludde – Het Pact (Black)

It isn’t every day two bands, specialized in bringing misery to the world, decide to join forces… Early in 2024 A Thousand Sufferings and Kludde were looking to add a new chapter to their book of vile bleakness and sorrow, as luck would have it, a new project was born. This new abomination would take the form of a split album. Reviewing what songs both bands were writing at the time, it was quickly decided by all that a concept album was in order, perhaps a Flemish tale of folklore? Something Kludde is known for and excels in. Or perhaps something a little more cruel and sorrowful? Lending itself for A Thousand Sufferings to churn out a whole lot of misery in the process. After some brain storming was done, a proposition was made to tell the story of the De Vis family. Based on true events it tells of greed and insanity, it tells of the sorrow of a young woman in love, bound to live out her days locked away in the family castle. All to preserve the riches, acquired over generations, each more depraved and decadent then the next.
