Inadaptados is the debut album by the Basque rock band Cicatriz. For many, it’s one of the key albums for understanding the explosion of so-called Basque Radical Rock (a label with which, despite their constant disassociation, they were always associated), and one of the most influential albums of Spanish punk. Recorded and mixed at Elkar Studios in San Sebastián by Jean Phocas, it is considered by many to be Cicatriz’s masterpiece, a time when heroin hadn’t yet taken its toll on their bodies and Natxo didn’t need crutches to walk. The sound is punk with influences from genres such as hardcore, street punk, hard rock, and heavy metal. It opens with an acoustic guitar played by drummer Pedro Landatxe on “En comisaria” (At the Police Station), continuing throughout the album. On this album, Pedro Landatxe (drums) doubled quite a few guitars, showing that he was a frustrated guitarist. His dream was always to switch to guitar, and Cicatriz sought out another drummer, something that never happened due to the confidence Pedro instilled in the band live. On subsequent albums, with the addition of Goar Iñurrieta on guitar, he no longer needed to double guitars.
