DUNEBUGGY – DUNEBUGGY

$18.90

Hoboken, NJ based Dunebuggy were born in 1991 out of suburban boredom, the D.I.Y. aesthetic of skateboarding, and an obsessive appreciation for well-crafted pop tunes. Having met through skateboarding in high school, singer/guitarist Jon-Michael Procupio (Dahlia Seed), and drummer Keith Renna began to craft their own original tunes by taking cues from alternative bands like The Replacements and the Lemonheads. Dunebuggy’s sound was punctuated by quirky phrasing, angular guitars, and imaginative lyrics. Tracy Wilson of Dahlia Seed lent her vocal and writing talents to the band’s recordings on a number of occasions. During their 90’s tenure before splitting up in 1996, Dunebuggy played live shows with Archers of Loaf, Blonde Redhead, Superdrag, Damon and Naomi, Apples in Stereo, Papas Fritas, Spectrum, and Air Miami. This posthumous vinyl release marks the first time many of these songs have ever been heard. Those that have been previously released feature alternate recordings or mixes and all the tracks have been freshly re-mastered. Comes on white vinyl in a very limited edition of 100 copies. The cover art features a vibrant graphic of a vintage guitar pedal designed by Jon-Michael Procopio.
