Hailing from southwest England, Frenzy began in 1983 after guitarist Simon Brand joined former Sharks singer/bassist Steve Whitehouse, the line-up completed by drummer Merv Pepler. After the ‘Robot Riot’ EP on Cat Machine, Frenzy signed to Nervous for top-notch debut Hall Of Mirrors, Brand replaced by Kevin Saunders in the process. Whitehouse’s rockabilly roots contrast Saunders’ and Pepler’s outside orientation, yielding a more rounded sound, and along with graveyard and asylum motifs, there’s a good dose of teen angst too. An excellent slice of 3-D psychobilly, with rockabilly and new wave leanings – grab it now! Edition on yellow vinyl.
