John Coltrane – Ole Coltrane (Rhino Hi-Fi)

Ole Coltrane’ was the final album recorded by John Coltrane under contract with Atlantic Records. Borrowing its flair and texture from Spanish-derived folk songs and an increased interest in African forms, this mono version of ‘Ole Coltrane’ celebrates its 65th Anniversary in 2026. Newly broken out as a standalone LP from the forthcoming Rhino High-Fidelity box set entitled ‘John Coltrane: 1960-1964’, all lacquers are AAA cut directly from the mono tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Optimal, with meticulous detailing on the album packaging that includes glossy covers and “tip-on” jackets.
