Kylie Minogue – X is the tenth studio album from one of pop music’s most enduring figures, and this Warner LP pressing brings it to vinyl in the format it deserves. Released in late 2007 across multiple territories, the album marked a significant personal and creative milestone for Minogue, arriving after her recovery from breast cancer and the completion of the Showgirl: Homecoming Tour. It is a record with real weight behind it, not just commercially but as a document of an artist returning to work on her own terms.

The Story Behind Kylie Minogue – X

Work on X began in July 2006 as Minogue was gradually regaining her health and her footing. Rather than rushing a response to what had been an extraordinarily difficult period, she took her time, finishing the Showgirl: Homecoming Tour into early 2007 before heading back into the studio to complete the album. The result is a record built with care and ambition. The production roster alone tells you something about the scope of the project: Bloodshy and Avant, Calvin Harris, Greg Kurstin, and Freemasons all contributed, bringing a range of electronic and pop production styles that give the album its restless, forward-moving energy. EMI Music Japan released it first on 21 November 2007, with Warner Music Australia following two days later, Parlophone handling the UK release on 26 November, and Capitol and Astralwerks covering the United States from 1 April 2008.

Pressing Details and Why This Copy Matters

This is the Warner label pressing of X on standard LP format. Given the album’s staggered international release schedule and the number of labels involved across different territories, finding a clean copy on Warner is not always straightforward. Kylie Minogue’s catalogue has historically seen stronger attention in physical formats in Australia and the UK than in the United States, which makes domestic pressings from the original release window increasingly sought after among collectors. Vinyl copies of X circulate far less frequently than the CD edition, and condition matters here as with any late-2000s pop pressing where quality control varied across plants and territories.

Who This Record Is For

If you follow Kylie Minogue’s catalogue seriously, X sits at an interesting point in her discography. It is the album that followed Body Language and came loaded with expectation after a very public health crisis, and it delivered a confident, producer-heavy pop record that held its own in a crowded 2007 landscape. For collectors interested in the broader story of 2000s pop on vinyl, or for anyone building out a complete Minogue shelf, this Warner pressing is a solid and increasingly hard-to-find copy worth picking up before it moves on.
