LOS SIGNOS / LOS MALINCHES – HECHICERA

We are back again and It’s such a pleasure to announce our fourth reference, also our first one in 2024. This time we bring you a fresh proposal: a double A-side presented as a 7″ single. Both sides revolves around the same song, and it’s called “Hechicera”. It’s a song written by Rodolfo Heyn Micheletto, aka Rudy Heyn, who was a member of the band the Blue Caps. Originally from Paraguay, they released the song in several countries of Latin America, as it was included in their 1971 album “Sensacional eres tú”, being quite popular at the time. Then, in 1972, Los Signos, (a group from our fetish country, Bolivia), released the song in their third EP with the record-company “Lyra”. They started as a band in La Paz in 1968, and they were part of the “New Bolivian Wave”. We’ve chosen this version by Los Signos for one of the sides because we love it so much, and also because we managed to reach Efraín Salazar (the leader of the band), and he kindly gave us his support to our project. The other A-side contains a powerful and wild version full of psychedelia and Latin garage, as we are used to it in their records and tremendous concerts. A band that we can consider one of the best examples in the West, as far as it concerns to current cumbia and Latin garage. Of course we are talking about Los Malinches, a group from Murcia, Spain. We really hope you like this new reference!! Desde Discos Quilombo os anunciamos nuestra cuarta referencia y primera de 2024. En esta ocasión os presentamos una propuesta novedosa, una doble cara A en formato single de 7″. Ambas caras giran en torno a una canción. Se trata de “Hechicera”, tema escrito por Rodolfo Heyn Micheletto, más conocido como Rudy Heyn, componente de Los Blue Caps, grupo paraguayo que la editó en varios países de Latinoamérica en su LP “Sensacional eres tú” de 1971, teniendo cierta popularidad en la época. Fue en 1972 cuando Los Signos grupo originario de nuestro país fetiche, Bolivia, la editaron en su tercer EP bajo el sello Lyra. Conjunto originado en La Paz dentro de la “Nueva ola boliviana” en 1968.Hemos elegido esta versión de Los Signos en una de las caras debido a que nos encanta y porque conseguimos contactar tras mucho trabajo con Efraín Salazar, líder de Los Signos, dándonos su beneplácito al proyecto. La otra cara A contiene una versión potente y salvaje, llena de psicodelia y garaje latino, como acostumbramos a escuchar en sus discos y en sus apoteósicos directos. Conjunto que podemos considerar uno de los timoneles de occidente en materia de cumbia y garaje latino actuales. Nos referimos al grupo originario de Murcia, España “Los Malinches”.
