Persekutor come from Targu Mures, Transylvania, and the band’s identity is built entirely around where they come from and what that place means for the kind of black metal they make. Vlad The Inhaler and Ion “Iron Slasher” Slasescu are the core of the band, and their previous album Angels of Meth earned a perfect 10/10 review in Decibel Magazine, which is not a score that publication hands out casually. Fenriz of Darkthrone has championed the band consistently, a recommendation from someone who came up in the genre and understands its history better than almost anyone.
