Rosegarden Funeral Party – THE CHOPPING BLOCK

Darkness alone does not make great post-punk. What matters is what hides inside it. On THE CHOPPING BLOCK, there is plenty: longing, anxiety, romantic despair, theatrical intensity, and above all a restless energy that already shows why Rosegarden Funeral Party stand apart from simple 1980s revivalism. Across its six tracks, THE CHOPPING BLOCK creates a remarkably coherent world of dark wave, goth, new wave, and post-punk. Instead of treating those influences like museum pieces, the band gives them urgency and motion. This is music that looks back without sounding trapped in the past.
