Growing tired of her own material, Cat Power released The Covers Record, a collection of cover songs recorded at various sessions in 1998 and 1999. The Covers Record is the fifth album by American singer/songwriter Chan Marshall, a.k.a. Cat Power. She performs songs by Smog Michael Hurley, Bob Dylan, Moby Grape, Nina Simone, Rolling Stones and others.
