The Takedowns self-titled full-length LP comes in hotter than hot with all the energy of the post Y2K hysteria and the heady haze of a world that was quickly changing in the early aughts. This new release gives these Bridge Town rockers their long overdue full-length record as it was intended to be released all those years ago. A band active from 2000 -2005, existing mostly in the pre-social media world, The Takedowns, played a style of music that didn’t fit neatly into one genre. Concocting a unique mix of punk, garage, & rock ‘n’ roll afforded them plenty of live opportunities through the years. Known for their energetic live performances, the band shared stages with psychobilly bands like Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Calavera, The Slanderin, and Gamblers Mark. They played on bills with punk bands Thee Undertakers, Union 13, Thretning Verse, The Virus, I Decline, The Dollyrots, and Destruction Made Simple. They also often hit the dive bar circuit with the 7 Shot Screamers, The Cop Outs, and The Guilty Hearts, The Rippers, and The Nots to name a few. remastered, repackaged and re-released on 12″ black vinyl with five previously unreleased tracks. This record lives in both the rock ‘n’ roll party and the somber aftermath of self-reflection and loathing. It’s a mover, a shaker and possibly an eyebrow raiser Raise ’em up and get yourself up off the floor! It’s martial law in the name of rock ‘n’ roll!
