Wild Moth’s sophomore full-length on Iron Pier, Inhibitor, sees the Bay Area band hit a new gear, layering darkly textured guitars to create a shimmering river of melodic, pensive, jagged post-punk. The album was recorded with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Whirr) and Max Senna (Miserable). Think modern shoegaze that mixes spikes of punk-infused energy, akin to Isn’t Anything-era My Bloody Valentine crossed with Drive Like Jehu. In 2013 SF Weekly called Wild Moth “one of the Bay Area’s most promising young post-punk bands” and Wild Moth have quickly become a major presence in the Bay Area punk scene.
