PAUL MAULED AND THE DEFENDENTS – TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Paul Mauled and the Defendents are a garage rock influenced punk assault from the bowels of New Jersey. Their furious Not Aloud Records debut ‘Take A Deep Breath’ is eighteen slamming melodic tracks with influences ranging from TSOL to the Ramones to the Stooges to Rick Springfield. This isn’t your Momma’s rock and roll, but she might dig it anyway. The record is bookended by ‘Games’ and ‘Steal Your Heart’, two songs from Paul’s short lived garage rock band, featuring Mr. Jim Catania on drums. Other highlights include the infectious “TMZ” the pro-legalization anthem “Glass Lips”, and “All Aboard”, which paints an ugly portrait of stagnancy and alienation. Paul Mauled has been a fixture in the tri-state rock and roll scene for almost ten years. From 2005 to 2013, Paul honed his writing and performing skills as the founding member and primary songwriter of horror punk band the Bad Whoremoans, while lending his talents to the The Undead and The Accelerators.
