DAMAGED GOODS

Damaged Goods was started in 1988 from a living room in East London by Ian Damaged. The first release was a re-issue of the 1977 single by Slaughter And The Dogs ‘Where Have All The Bootboys Gone?’. After great reviews in all the UK weeklies it was followed swiftly by the bands Debut album ‘Do It Dog Style’. Releases by Adam & The Antz, Killjoys, Pork Dukes and Snivelling Shits followed.

Originally DG was going to be a re-issue punk label but by 1990 the temptation to release current bands got too much and singles by The Roadholders, The Sect and the debut Manic Street Preachers followed.
In early 1991 we released our first single by Billy Childish & Thee Headcoats, many more swiftly followed including the debut Headcoatees single as well. We now work closely with Billy looking after his entire catalogue.

Between 1992 & 1994 we released the debut single from Helen Love along with great one off singles with Atari Teenage Riot, New Bomb Turks, Wat Tyler & Asian Dub Foundation.

By 1995 DG was a full time occupation concentrating on the UK garage scene based around Toe Rag studios in London and Slim Chance’s Wild Western Rooms in Archway as well as top one off Indie & Punk releases as well.
In 1995 we released the debut Holly Golightly album ‘The Good Things’ little did we know then that she would go on to be our biggest artist. We have now released ten albums by Holly and her debut along with Lawyer Dave this year too.

Over the next ten years we did records with some great bands like J Church, TV Personalities, Armitage Shanks, Honeyrider, Revillos Mikabomb, Priscillas and many more.

We have now released over 300 different records on every conceivable color of vinyl as well as having the full catalogue available digitally via iTunes etc. We also export to every part of the planet that wants our releases.

Now in our 20th yeah the releases keep coming, we’ve added The Cute Lepers (Ex-Briefs), Graham Day & The Gaolers , Billy Childish & The Musicians Of The British Empire, The Buzzcocks & The Wolfmen (Marco and Chris from Adam and the Ants new band) to our ever growing list of releases along with regulars like Fabienne Delsol and of course Holly Golightly
