CASSIUS KING – DREAD THE DAWN

$9.80

Are those flutes on the opening of the track Genesis on Dread The Dawn? Indeed, they are. Cassius King is not fearful of taking chances. Lorenzo said, “I think Jason was expecting me to say, ‘No way!’ when he was asked what he thought about adding flutes to the beginning of Genesis, but it fits. Dan loves diversity on album, which is one of the reasons he wanted to do some ‘tune-down’ songs with Hades as far back as 1986. With regards as to how Dread The Dawn differs from Field Trip, McMaster said, “I feel these tunes were adjusted a bit more to fit a feel or color that we have created on the debut, Field Trip. Although only minor rearrangements were made to a few songs, some of the songs are over eight minutes and some are barely three minutes. So, there will be something to consider when lyrically telling a story of some kind, with drastic song lengths. This record, we collaborated a bit more. Feels like a band.” Along with the aforementioned McMaster and Lorenzo are former Hades/Dreams of Venus/Vessel Of Light bassist Jimmy Schulman and former Hades/Overkill drummer Ron Lipnicki. Flotsam and Jetsam’s Michael Gilbert guests on the solo on the album’s opening track Abandon Paradise and Scott LePage returns to lay down some blistering guitar solos as well… and even slide guitar on Schulman’s track Doomsday Hand.
