The Ramonas – Haphazard

$30.80

The Ramonas quickly made a name for themselves by touring the legendary punk rock circuits of the U.K. and Europe in support of their debut EP, You Asked For It, released in 2016. The following year saw the release of the band’s debut album First World Problems, which was met with rave reviews. Within the first two years of the band’s inception, The Ramonas had become a staple on the U.K. punk scene with the hard-hitting, melodically catchy songs, coupled with their tightly knit musicianship and ever-explosive stage presence. The band also caught the attention and nod of approval from punk rock royalty & legend Charlie Harper of The U.K. Subs, who has since performed as a guest on Ramonas albums as well as in their music videos. Haphazard is not your average punk rock album. The album was written & arranged remotely during the height of the pandemic, and when The Ramonas stepped into the studio to begin recording Haphazard in June 2021, it was the very first time that the band had seen one another in person since their last show in March 2020. Without having played a single note together as a band in well over a year, The Ramonas went into that studio and tracked the album in its entirety within three days. Haphazard showcases The Ramonas musical versatility, encompassing punk rock and its many sub genres, whilst the album explores a darker side musically and lyrically touching on subjects highlighted during the pandemic. Together with their trademark catchy riffs and melodic hooks, Haphazard is delivered with the attitude and touch of humor that the band is well known for.

The Ramonas Haphazard vinyl is the kind of record that earns its place in a collection on context alone, and the story behind it makes the music hit harder. Released on PRORAWK RECORDS (catalog PR 52), this LP documents a band operating under extraordinary circumstances, and the result is one of the more honest punk records to come out of the U.K. in recent years.

Who The Ramonas Are and Why They Matter

The Ramonas built their reputation the old-fashioned way: relentless touring across the U.K. and European punk circuits behind their 2016 debut EP, You Asked For It. Their 2017 full-length, First World Problems, landed to strong reviews and established them as a genuine fixture on the U.K. punk scene. What set them apart early on was the combination of melodically sharp songwriting, tight playing, and a live show with real energy behind it. That reputation caught the ear of Charlie Harper of The U.K. Subs, who has since appeared as a guest on Ramonas recordings and in their music videos. That kind of endorsement does not come from nowhere.

What Makes The Ramonas Haphazard Vinyl Worth Your Attention

Haphazard was written and arranged entirely remotely during the height of the pandemic. When the band finally walked into the studio in June 2021, it was the first time they had been in the same room since their last show in March 2020. No rehearsals, no warm-up dates, no soundchecks together. They had not played a note as a unit in over a year. They tracked the entire album in three days. That fact alone changes how you listen to it.

The album pushes into darker lyrical and musical territory than previous Ramonas work, drawing on the weight and strangeness of pandemic life while still carrying the catchy riffs and melodic hooks the band is known for. The humor is still there, delivered with the attitude that longtime fans expect, but there is more underneath it this time. The record spans punk and its adjacent subgenres without losing focus, and the range works because the songwriting holds it together.

The Pressing Details

This is the standard LP edition on PRORAWK RECORDS, catalog number PR 52. For collectors focused on U.K. punk and independent labels, this is a clean, direct way to own a record with a genuinely unusual origin story pressed on a label that keeps its catalog tight. The Ramonas are not a band that has been overexposed on vinyl, which makes physical copies of their albums worth picking up when they surface. Haphazard in particular represents a specific and unrepeatable moment in the band’s history, and that gives this pressing weight beyond the music itself.
