KUNG FU RECORDS was founded in 1996 by Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald of THE VANDALS. Founded in order to release a record by the Riverside, California band ASSORTED JELLY BEANS, the label soon grew to include releases by BLINK 182, THE ATARIS, TSUNAMI BOMB, and THE VANDALS themselves. In 2000, KUNG FU RECORDS expanded into releasing DVDs of live concerts, music videos, TV series, band documentaries, and independent films. Today, in addition to being a catalog label with over 80 releases, KFR continues to develop active bands like the Biffers, Fexet, Cooper, and Vs. The World
